Inktober Day 16 - Today’s SPOOKY subject is the phenomenon in which the introduction of certain housing and businesses into a community becomes too expensive to serve the existing community and results in increased rent and etc and displaces the existing community for the sake of “wow this area looks so much cleaner now”. It’s like a metaphorical vampire that silently feasts on vulnerable people and the people who have a say in what happens are either unaware of their impact or simply don’t care!

Anyways @acornboots are at the Queer Art Market right now and I saw this Latino Super Market in the area with new apartments being built next to it. I really hope that the people living in the neighborhoods surrounding this Super Mercado are able to afford living in those new apartments and that any new tennants will shop at and support this business :)
